A mate of mine has given me two massive tins of Oil. He reckons they are 5 or 6 years old, possibly more, but he also reckons that being oil, it won't go off.

He originally bought it to do his house, which was Jarrah weatherboard, but didn't end up using it...

It doesn't appear to be sold here in Oz anymore, but I have found similar sounding stuff on the Wattyl NZ site.

http://www.wattyl.co.nz/architects/t...il%20Stain.pdf

The stuff I have is stained Jarrah, which is exactly what I need.

The data above states that "Wattyl Forestwood Traditional Oil Stain adds colour to timber, but allows the grain to show through. It's oil rich formula penetrates the timber to protect and enhance the colour. It is available in a wide range of popular timber colours. Wattyl Forestwood Traditional Oil Stain dries completely to give a surface that
won't mark clothing or skin."

And can be used for:

Ideal for all rough sawn and smooth timber or over similar oil stains

Beams, pergolas, gates

Weatherboards

Window Frames

I am wondering if I can use it on my Jarrah deck? Or will this stuff stay too oily to use on a deck?

Anyone had any experience with this or similar products?

Cheers
