No lintel in old cottage house window
Hi everyone, just like to share this with you. I had intended to replace a casement window in a cottage style house but when I ripped out the architrave it appears the inner leaf of the double brick wall is supported by the window only. I don't see any lintel holding it up. Neither do I see any timber wedges in brickwork to nail the window to. Guess I'll have to resort to plan B, cut out any rotten parts of the window and glue new new wood back.
