    Default Silky oak jewellery box

Have had 10 jewellery/keepsake boxes gathering dust in the workshop for over twelve months. I guess you could say the glue joints are now dry? This one is the first to get finished, it is northern silky oak (cardwellius sublimus). Box joints were done on the table saw with a saw blade that has a flat top to the teeth, using my home made jig. Not sure what the veneer panels in the lid is, but the veneer inlay banding is my own creation. The inside lining is silver ash with red felt on the bottom inside. Three coats of sanding sealer and three sprayed coats of lacquer. Rubbed back with oooo steel wool and buffed up with Ubeaut's EEE. Doesn't look to bad.

    C and C welcome.
