The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.
This has to be one of the hardest to log into and do anything on sites I have ever used....
49 out of 50 tries to enter forums etc., the server times out and it redirects back to the main index OR I get the message:
"The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later."
Me thinks time to upgrade the 486 server and get a pentium 100.

I haven't had any probs today. Some days I do, but its fairly rare. O just blame it on "them" and do something else.

I spend a lot of time on this forum and have seen that error message maybe half a dozen times in the last 6 years.
I think someone must be trying to give you a hint"I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

HammaHed, I am a computer-illiterate of the first water so cannot comment except to write that I have never been denied entry except for the one occcasion when I received that message and that was early one evening when I thought the explanation must be that many people were logging on to catch up.

49 or 50 times
If you've been told once, I'll bet you've been told a million times.......Don't exaggerate.
Unless, of course, you're one of those people who stand at the pedestrian crossings hammering the bejesus out of the big button on the post in the mistaken belief it'll make the lights change faster. In which case I'm sorry, there's no help for you here.
Had the problem once in the last 6-8 weeks

TL, this is the same person that told us in no uncertain terms that he didn't approve of the way this site handles pictures, yet he sits there for 49 unsuccesful log on attempts just to get on once.
What a man!

49 out of 50 so i guess your mobile phone bill in nearer $1000 than $50 per month - you would ring someone and if it goes to message bank you ring back again and again until they pick it up??
Sometimes the truth doesnt hurt
OH and the message - yep occasionally i get it then go away and come back 10 minutes later and all is good. I thought they were actually up to a pentium now but anyway i thought it was just so popular that there wasnt room for me.
Cheersregards

Those messages do appear fairly regularly. There is no common denominator that I have been able to notice. Time of day varies, ISP varies. Dunno, but it does happen, most certainly, you are not the only one.
The best way to find out why this occurs is for people to post useful information that Steven can use to figure out what may be going on.
What link
ISP
date and time
browser
maybe connection type or other info would help.
As this information was collected over a long period it may give a clue as to what the problem is.

Maybe you should put this book on your Christmas wish list. It may lead to more doors being opened for you .
