Concrete Strip Footing
Hi everyone, just have a question to ask in regards to a strip footing.
Generally how wide is the strip footing, if on the footing I have 1 course of foundation block (190), does it have to be wider than the block you using.
How deep does the footing have to be (Generally) I know it depends on soil, but the plan I got does not say how deep.
Because the ffl is about 200mm above the existing ground level I am going to do a strip footing right around the perimeter of the new house extension, then lay one course of block, knock out half of the block and pour a slab up to the top of the block, is this the right way to do this?
If you are just doing one course of blocks do you need starters coming out from the strip footing for the blocks?
If anyone has done something similiar I would be really good to see some photos!
