Default Difference between an Orbital Sander and Disc

    Hi ,
Probably a an silly question, What is the diffrence between and Orbital sander and a disc sander. I am looking at purchasing one for my bench tops. (See bellow thread.)
But I am not sure what wou;ld be the best to go for.

Once I finish on the House ( 1883 Circ) if I ever do I would like to think I could go on and make stuff in my workshop etc.
So I guess somthining robust so that I can use it preping surfaces such as Weatherboards for painting and then the more finer timber finishing work.

Any tips ect would be great

    Cheers
