    Default Moisture Metre

    Hi everyone,

Hopefully this is the place to post this. I been looking at numerous meters and the Wagner Orion 950 seems to be the stand out and the way to go. Mind you at over $900 it's not a cheap item. At least we have a grant to purchase.

A meter would be very handy in our men's shed, not only for the timber we are still trying to mill but for a lot of timbers we get.

My question, has anyone got one and used one. Do you feel they are worth the coin or will other meters do the same or be as accurate.

    Be interested in responses.

Kevmor trade tools in WA have them on special for $699. They are a good meter. I have an old Tramex pinless that has served me for about thirty years and still going strong. If I was in need of a replacement I would certainly consider the Wagner.

I would recommend Delmhorst I have had a Delmhorst J-4 for 20 odd years with the slide hammer acc. never had any problems with it, when I was in business I had it calibrated twice just to make sure it was accurate, it never has needed adjustment.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback, update, after a discussing with a Kevmor staff member what we wanted in a meter, Kevmor staff indicated the 910, I decided to go the Wagner 930 figured we did not need all the bells and whistles of the 950.

Kevmor was the cheapest place to purchase the item so we are expecting our moisture meter this week. Next step will be the most interesting using the meter and trying to understand the readings.

Kevmor were great to chat to and deal with, providing good advice.
