Firstly thanks for all the advice I've gathered thru this site especially from 'old boss'.
Like the other low decks which have been proposed I have similar issues, this is what I would like to do and would appreciate any thoughts.
my deck will be 1.5 metres deep and 9 metres wide off the front of the house.I dont have room for bearers so will be using 90 x 45 laminated t/p which I have been told will span the 1.5m req'd and will be very true. I have a 4 course high double brick wall which I would like to bolt a timber ledger too however height wont permit, I am thinking of using a 50 x 50 gal angle 4mm thick as a ledger dynabolted to the wall and also to the house side and just spacing joists along at 400 centres. The reason i am not just laying joists on ground is due to the uneven paving and the different falls away from my house so I thought it would be easier to get the gal angle nice and level and this will also keep joists off ground by about 20mm.
I will be using 90 x 19 mm spotted gum decking boards with ss screws,
So what do ya reckon boys? ta
