    Default The Woodwork Fairy Strikes

I had just sent off my 4th pack of Holly to various woodies around the country and put up with the odd comment:

'What's the use of sending all that wood around the the place by post. The only one making anything out of it is the post office!'

...when a courier pulls up outside and delivers a parcel- a Makita cordless impact driver. I seem to remember a contest I went in at Home Hardware after a recent purchase. Well there it is, no note of explanation- but like Richmond's win over Freo last weekend- I'm taking it.

    Thank you Woodwork fairy!

    Default And there's more..

I get a phone call tonight from Makita to say I've won a barbecue setting after buying the same tool!
Could I make contact with the store manager?
SWMBO says I live there and should be paying rent to the manager.

    Who says Life's a bit%^?

    It's still happening............

A lady at work is moving into town and has offered me her father in law's lathe. It's sight unseen but I think you are probably better off with a 'real' one than one of the cheapies? Correct?
I'm not exactly a lathe person but I'm accepting it. Now where to put it?

    Congrats!!!

I smell a cunning plan coming on....

Instead of returning from the store with shiny box and trying to get it into the shed before SWMBO spots its....I'll just mail stuff to myself, insert a note congratulating me on my win and acting all surprised when it arrives

    Ashes,

It works both ways. My Mum went to the funeral of her best friend and after the funeral the husband gave her a package. 'Here are the 3 swimming costumes you loaned my wife.' The 2 ladies are mega sizes difference. How clever is the guy?
