Have to praise the Olivers too- AT has just released a superboot, with kevlar stitching and all round bumpers. On my second pair of AT's now, and they are available in tan, brown and black. $150 odd for the standard model, and $170 for the superboot.
If you spend 10 hours+ a day in them, its a small price to pay not to have sore feet and back at the end of the day.

Safety Boots rule 101 , when you retire and you make sure you get your last issue of safety clothing and boots and in my case uniforms just before you retire , do not , repeate do not put said safety boots in the shed and not use for 13 years cause when you pick them up the soles will peel off as the material holding the sole to the shoe has died big time

    Default Safety Boots

Have been wearing safety boots since the early seventies, been a Miner that long, thats all I wear on my feet except when I walk and ride my murdercycle. Steel Blue are my choice, over the years I have tried a lot including them Olivers, found them too soft, you can bend them around into almost a ball with your hands, no support in the ankle area and not recommended by a Podiatrist either in lace ups which I had or slip ons. Other good boots to look at are Dunlop, Blundstone ( the ones made in Oz before they went to China), never tried Mack or Caterpillar boots, you pay for a brand there and that does not make them any better either.

I thought so too, but when I last bought a pair (maybe 12 months ago now), it said "made in Indonesia" on the box........ (Wagga Hiker style)

I'd be interested to find out the truth on this?

They are comfortable and have worn well, if a little hot!

Tried Mack boots about five years back. First pair split across the ball region of the sole after three weeks. Took them back to get a replacement pair, was told probably a bad batch of soles. Rooted through the stock and found some from a different batch. Same thing, got my money back and bought some Red Backs, have used them ever since no problems and very comfortable.

first pair went about 4.5 years, second still going at 1.5.

Worn daily in a kitchen (first pair) and joinery shop (second pair)
