    Thumbs up G'day all

    Hi
    I'm Bao from Melbourne.

Good to know a great forum with all experiences and helpful people around the world.

I've found the wood world is wonderful and enjoyment. After reading many useful information in the forum, I turned my garage upside down and converted to a work shop as advices, with all relevant tools and ready to rock

I'm very interested in woodturning and cabinet making. Please advice where and how should I start!

Look forward to being part of this great community

    Cheers!!!!

Hi and welcome aboard. You have already started. If your skills are limited start off with something simple and easy to make but it depends where your own interest lies. If it be cabinets, then make a small cabinet that is basic in design and learn from your mistakes as you go along.
I've been woodworking for too many years to remember and I am still learning.
This is a great place to start with many great ideas and pictures of projects that members have built.
Take a look at some of the work in progress pictures of some of these projects and you may become inspired to follow one of those designs. Box making is also a popular form or woodworking and we have some great ideas in the Box making section of the forum.
Toys are also very very popular among woodworkers and many projects and plans etc arre available to see and even download from the Toy making section on the forum.

You can also get great ideas from looking at other pieces of furniture etc in your local furntiture stores. I have "copied" many pieces of furniture I have seen in the stores and taken the plan home in my mind to make a similar piece.

There are so many facets to woodworking that it is never lacking in intererest for the avid woodworker and always new things to learn. you have chosen a great hobby and passtime.

    Welcome to the addiction.
    Reality is no background music.
    Cheers John
