Late model wadkin ECA
Hows this for a late model Wadkin ECA .
Plastic Badge! And I guess an Aluminum tag. I don't think Ive ever seen a machine this late before.
Test no 90248 is after the last date on Marks list which ends at 89787 for 1982.
When did Wadkin cease to manufacture?
Were there Wadkin machines made later than this with the same quality like this? Not those badges but machine build looks the same as the 40s and in great condition.

Very nice! Geez £7,194.00 - there was a very nice Robinson down in SA a few months ago for $2,500 it would have been a really good buy, was up for sale for a couple of months can you believe it.

I think they finally closed in 2007 or 2008. But most of their later machines were fabricated steel. I think very few of their cast iron machines lasted beyond the 1960s/1970s. The EQ spindle moulder may be another that survived a long time
And IIRC Mark Furnman said that from the change to "Wadkin PLC" Wadkin was part of the Robinson group of companies - and I've seen a few machines with "Wadkin PLC" tags that were almost certainly Robinson machines.
My tuppence worth.
