Where is Bitingmidge?
Bitingmidge left home on August 5th for a month; so he is already overdue. Could Dr Moriarty have thrown him down the Reichenbach Falls? Or did he get lost in a Finnish forest whilst hunting for trolls? Or maybe he has been kidnapped in Beijing, and forced to become a modern-day Lord Haw-Haw on Chinese TV? Or has Mr Putin thrown him in jail for trying to set up a deal with Russian oligarchs to build a resort in the Crimea? The possible vicissitudes inherent in a trip half-way round the world are endless. Meanwhile SilentC is amassing an unbeatable lead in the postings stakes. Come back, Midge! Your Forum needs you!

Still away I assume.

Abducted by Swedish nymphomaniacs and trying to obtain the $1.00 ransom so he can be freed

Had an email from the Midge a few days ago, said he'd be back in a week or so.

Rocker, please delete this thread. We wouldn't want him to think we care

Forum members have probably noticed that Bitingmidge has been remarkably reticent on his return about his exact whereabouts in recent weeks. Most would ascribe this to the effects of jetlag; but perhaps there is a more sinister explanation. Is he under orders from DFAT not to reveal the amount of the ransom that was paid for his release from the Crimean jail, or is he still still suffering from the troll bite that almost did for him in that Finnish forest? Perhaps we shall never know.
Welcome home, Peter.

Cheers all!
Not exactly jetlagged, that's hard to do on a train travelling at an average speed of 70kmh, (even after 12,000 km) although as usual no sleep on the overnighter from HongKong means that we could be a bit more alert than we actually are!
No troll bites, no Swedish Nymphos, no Chinese Massages, just a thousand pictures and as many stories.
For those who haven't yet gone travelling from Scandinavia through the Baltic states to China via Siberia and Mongolia.... may I humbly suggest you put it on your list of things you must do before you die.
It should be right up there beside owing a tablesaw.
Cheers,
P
