Gday from Northmead
Gday I'm Dave from Northmead (just North of Parramatta)
I've got a few projects WELL underway:
- building a timber fence out the front (using old fence posts from a horse paddock)
- renovating a garage into an office (using old floorboards for the ceiling)
- building a cubby house for the kids
- locating parts for an Ozito planer/thicknesser (guard, fence, dust collector, crank etc)
I've got a soft spot for Australian timber and recycling but I'm not religious about it. I'd love to retrieve and mill logs one day - in fact if you do that kind of thing and you'd like a labourer for a few days - let me know! I've got a car.
I struggle to stay motivated with my longer projects sometimes so I'd like to find a mate to work with - help him with his stuff, get his help with my stuff etc. If you're in Sydney or surrounds and want to collaborate like that, please send me a message.
I've just started some lessons at Terry Gleeson's woodworking school in Dural. I'm gaining a lot from that. In particular I'm learning a lot about hand tools.
I only just discovered Carbatec - I've had a pretty bad Bunnings addiction - so Carbatec could be hard to quit. I'm a little less financial these days so I'm also interested in woodworking on a budget, second hand tools etc.
These forums are great.

Welcome to the forum.
I sometimes get side tracked and it does take a long time to completed something. But it does get done.
Try looking at it with little task and soon the whole project is complete.
Got this from these forums.

Welcome aboard. It's a great hobby but like all hobbies can be very expensive but it doesn't cost the earth to get started and sometimes bargains to be had at trash and treasure markets. Sounds like you have enough projects on your agenda to keep you going for a while. Good luck with it.
Reality is no background music.
Cheers John
