I'm hoping someone can help me with quite a predicament.

I noticed it was damp on the wall behind the shower (single brick wall) and paint was bubbling. So after careful examination I noticed some water behind the shower tap handles so I was advised to let it dry out then silicone it up.

I did so but it didnt seem to stop it. So I removed all the silicone (sucky job) and went through the process of changing washers etc. This was still no good so I replaced the taps hoping that would fix the problem but water was still present behind the taps.

I bought a reseating tool and went through that but again, still water.

Now I'm sure your thinking its a pipe in the wall at this point but I have another thought...

On closer inspection I have managed to observe that it only seems to leak when the tap is actually turned on and it is coming between the washer and the face with the thread. So I tried numerous amounts of teflon tap, thick washers, thin washers but cant seem to stop it leaking when the tap is on.

I feel like there is something obvious I must be missing. Please anyone any thoughts/ideas?

Cheers,
Michael
