Who has how many?
By the time the first Australian Working with Wod Show comes around in April, I will be close to having 1000 posts or will have already reached the mile-stone.
While this is "have your say", this is more of "ask a question". And here they are:
A short while ago there was a post asking if non-active members could be removed from the data base to create more usable space.
Over the years, how many members have there been?
How manay members were deleted from the data base, if this did actually happen?
How many of those reached 1000+ posts?
How many people have reached 1000+ posts?
And, there are a few members who live here, one of those now has 6000+(Hi Gumby ) posts. How many members are there that have an astronomical amount of posts?

Wow.
I don't spend a lot of time on this forum, but this thread caught my eye.
I do spend a fair bit of time on a number of other forums, and I would say on those forums, 300 posts is a lot. 1000 is fairly rare.
You can also usually judge the quality or content of someones posts by the number they have made, and often this forms an inverse relationship. (Although I will quantify that by saying this doesen't necessarily seem to be the case on this forum ).
So what I am suggesting, is that people should not be "deleted" (in a Dalek style voice) because they do not have a large "number" of posts.
Also, what would happen to the threads they have contributed to, should they be "exterminated......". ??
Wouldn't it be better to delete old unvisited threads, than to delete old users.
Just some thoughts.

Just go to the members list, and click the column for number of posts - you can count them yourself.
I'm 17th, Gumby is 6th, and Ozwinner is #1!
Stirlo must get an honourable mention, as in only 12 months as a member, he's posted 2300 times At that rate, he'll pass us all!"Clear, Ease Springs"

I am glad I spend more of my time WW than Ozwinner, SilentC and Echnidna, who seem to spend a lot of time here.
Off concreting now, after crafting some beautiful treated pine for a former.Last edited by Iain; 14th January 2007 at 08:46 AM. Reason: Remove Biting Midge, my error

To date we have had 14.495 people join up as members over the years.
We currently have 13,112 Members.
3,513 are classed as Active Members ie someone who has posted or visited the forums in the past 60 days. Not everyone takes an active roll in the forums some just come to read their daily dose of woodie related stuff. (Only active members are eligible for the Free Stuff Prize Draws)
We have deleted 1383 members from the Official Members List. These were people with no posts, who have been registered for more than 5 years and have never been back to the forums since joining up.
We have also banned, deleted or refused admittance to well over 1,000 people for spamming and other undesirable stuff.
We still have a couple of thousand members who have signed up over the past 71/2 years with 1 or 2 post initially and never returned (any of these over 3 years old with no relevant posts) may be culled.
We also have a heap still on 0 posts who have never returned since joining. Allof these over 3 years old will also be culled in the near future.
Also worth noting is the fact that members names do not show in the Members List until they have posted at least once.
Cheers - Neil

I'm currently sitting 110th spot - I didn't realise I had so much to say. Maybe I should let some others have their say every now and then.
