Can't enter posts
Never a dull moment............
Tried to answer a question re Balinese Hut, forum spat the dummy and demnded a reply of at least 1 character, can understand that. Problem is I typed in a whole sentence.
Also tried to answer a PM, got the same stern response from the forum.
???? down Firefox, tried again, same result.
In desperation I sunk as low as firing up IE and lo and behold I could enter posts and PMs
So is the forum broke or is Firefox broke? I have not updated my Firefox today and have entered several posts before this happened.
As Alice said "curiouser and curiouser"..................

Thanks Ray, but neither the post or the PM had quote boxes, just typed in to the blank text box. Did it several times with the same result, even typed it again in the text box that popped up with the "at least 1 character" message.
Works in IE, doesn't work in Firefox, only happened since my last post before the Balinese Hut reply.

G'day Steve,
Had three PM's from Big Shed.
IE.....with quote...and typed text worked.
Firefox .....could see the quote but no typed text.
Checked again.
IE....with quote....and typed text worked again.

Switched to Basic Text Editor on first computer
Edit:
That did the trick! So why does WSIWYG work on one computer and not on the other? And why did this happen all of a sudden?
Edit 2:
Switched to Standard Editor
Edit 3:
Still worked, oh well guess I will be using the Standard Editor

For Steven
Ah now I understand Steven's Pm's
Now my problem with the Error Message was prior any major updates ages ago Steven, only because I typed everything inside the "Quote Box" and got the same message as Big Shed. Once I put any text outside the box it was ok

After quite a bit of experimenting and investigating I have finally resolved my little editor problem.
As stated above, I suddenly could not enter messages or posts using the WSIWYG editor. This happened on my main use computer, a notebook running Win XP. It did not happen on my desktop computer, and older Pentium III running Win2000. Both have Firefox 2.0.0.16 as their web browser. When using IE7 the WSIWYG editor would work on the notebook.
I eventually noticed in Firefox that the NoScript icon (bottom right hand corner) was partially red because yahooapsis.com had not been enabled for scripts. When I allowed scripts for this the WSIWYG editor worked again.
Just thought I would post this as there may be other users experiencing this or similar problems in Firefox, the moral is check NoScript permissions.

Nice work, BS. As of yesterday, I had the same problem. I never bother allowing scripts from sites unless they are the site I want, or a derivative of. Dunno how 'yahooapis' fits in with this forum, but what the hey, it works...
