Stanley 112 tote
I need to replace a broken Rosewood tote on a Stanley 112 scraper and was wondering if anyone knew whether one of the other model totes would be identical to this one?
I've compared it to the #7 and #3 but these, though not far off, don't seem to match.
If anyone has one, or knows where one might be available, that information would be appreciated. It will never be a collection piece as there are a number of very deep scratches on the sole but I'd still like to get a solid tote on it and make it a good user if possible.

Hi Steve,
It's the same as a #4 handle. To buy one is relatively expensive, you can try:
parts 1-10
You can put a "wanted to buy" on these forums or if it's a user not a collector then maybe glue the one you have - it works fine.

Is that broken? Or broken and repaired?
If it's cleanly broken and nobody's messed with it too much, that's a very repairable tote.We don't know how lucky we are......

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
The one I have has already been repaired but it doesn't look to have been a quality repair job. It will do the job for now but I'll keep my eye out for a nice No. 4 tote to replace it. Even though it's a user I'd still like it to be in as good a condition as possible.

The handles I compared were my SW era #112 with a type 12 #4 and they are the same. Of course one explanation is the #112 handle I have could be a replacement from a #4 .....

Interesting.
I just did a quick visual check against the #3 tote and the looked to be different sizes but I could have been mistaken. I'll have another look at it tomorrow and see if they are interchangable.

Couldn't resist heading out to the shed to have a look...
The #3 tote is very close and will fit onto the 112 with just a little modification. If you have a look at the first photo I posted the blade angle adjusting mount has a spine that goes back towards the tote. The #3 tote "toe" is longer than the 112 and hits this spine before seating properly onto the plane body. The rest of the shape is very similar, within a few mm here and there which could definitely be due to wear of the 112 or reconditioning of the #3.
