Super Matte Finish over Tas Oak
Hi Guys,
Working on some fine furniture made out Tasmanian Oak at the moment and will be applying finish in the next few days.
I should also mention that the pieces have some tight corners to hand applying/finished is most certainly necessary.
Im looking for a really matte/soft finish that isn't going to yellow.
Currently thinking of just heading down the wipe on satin poly then waxed, but open to oiling and waxing?
It will be applied to a bedhead aswell as bedside tables so doesnt need to be super hard wearing but some protection would be good.
I have done some research into HBO, Tung etc. but ive never hard burnished before and don't want to stuff it up.
Appreciate the insight guys.

If you are looking or a matt finish and one that wont yellow then you may want to try out the Livos Kunos in the white. Your sanding grit will dictate the end result and it is easy to apply. If you do not buff in-between coats, you will have a matt finish. If you want a clear though, this in time will deepen the colour of the timber. With oils, I find this more of a natural progression rather than the typical orange colour that varnishes take when they are exposed to a lot of sunlight. Try a test sample especially since you have some fiddly bits to do, you don’t want to treat it with something and have to resand. Good luck with whatever you choose.
