Hello from Doveton, Australia
Hi all,
Unfortunately I missed out on any woodworking mentorship when growing up, althought I've always tried to build things with varying levels of success. I bought my first house a couple of years ago, and have since successfully built a couple of pergolas and other things - all over researched and WAY over engineereed (can never be too safe eh!).
I've found this site to be a great resource and a source of the mentorship and skills transfer that just doesn't seem to get passed down any more. Needless to say, I try to involve my kids in my projects as much as I can.
Cheers!
Mike

Welcome aboard. There is plenty of advice to be had here. Some of it is even worth taking notice of.
Reality is no background music.

Welcome to the forum.
I guess reading about something can be a little differrent to actually being shown. So do not be concern about asking too many questions, no such thing as a dump question.
