more wood for hitting people
I've had these sitting around for a while waiting for a photo, unfortunately my good cameras on the fritz so Im reduced to using the one in my phone. I think I'm coming to the end of the weapons as the mace has triggered a new set of design ideas based on seeds and nuts, I'm also partway through another piece that I'll eventually get round to posting (and sanding
)

I'm reminded of a line from Lenny Cohen;
"I'm guided by the beauty of our weapons"
But they are your weapons and rather nice. I'm liking the squid.
Do they work on religious zealots??????

In my career as retro phrenologist, I could certainly put those beauties to good use.

Perhaps more a hobby than career...

Love your stuff Iggy. Been ages since you posted any. Thank goodness you're still 'at it'.

A good smack upside the head with either one will spoil your opponent's day.
I like the incorporation of the squid into the design.
Certainly "user friendly," cheerful tools.

Squidblade!
Wow. You have no idea how much I want both of those. Never thought of carving weaponry form wood - might give me something interesting to try since I did some weapon design sketches a while back and don't quite possess the weird pretend materials to make them from. Carved wood - cannot BELIEVE I didn't think of that!

Iggy, Love your weaponry, could be quite handy if anyone dare break into your house
.What wood is the squid sword? I have some old Jarrah bed slats that I thought would make good swords but a bit scared to tackle Jarrah.

Squiddy is made from Tas leatherwood (blade), Rock Maple and ebony for the handle. Jarrah works well, if I can find the page I'll post a link to a bunch of others I've made. Got the bug for these from a project I give to my year 9 3D art kids. Makes for some lively classes.

Thanks Iggy, I might try and design something similar using the jarrah for the blade. Yes I bet year 9s would love that project, I know my boys would have at the same age.

Nice stuff Iggy
..I can imagine year 9s going crazy over these....
I can picture the scene on the bus..little Billy showing everyone the spice rack he made in woodwork...Johnny (pulling his laminated mace out of his bag)..
"That's not a woodwork project"
what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?
