Default Furniture Maker WANTED in ADELAIDE

I am a furniture designer in Adelaide am looking for someone to work with us to make our pieces of furniture.

    A little bit about us.....

We have approx nine pieces on our current range however 2-3 of them are best sellers and offer our customer a semi bespoke service. Customers are invited to work in-coordination with us to design their bespoke furniture. Alternatively they can adapt an existing piece through the choice of woods and laminate finishes, handles as well as design changes. Therefore this allows customers to get a piece of furniture that compliments their interior as well as allowing them to get involved in the design process.

Our designs are based on mid century design so are have a simple box like construction. Our pieces are made in a veneered MDF with solid wood legs. Teak, American Walnut and American White Oak are our preferred veneers we use.

We currently produce 1-2 pieces per week however sometimes could be 3-4.

    Who we are looking for....

    • Someone who is competent at producing our current range of furniture and also able to make small design changes when required.
    • *** Someone who has access to a workshop with the necessary machinery – this is obviously the main point as we do not have workshop or access to one
    • We require them to make the piece only. The finishing such as the handles, shellac, varnishing etc is finished by us.

I hope to hear from you soon.

    Smidge

can you please clarify what it is you are looking for

is it someone who can take your design, generate a cutting list, source the material, make the piece and deliver the raw finished piece to you for you to finish -- Payment would occur when the raw piece was delivered to you

    or
will you supply the design, cutting list and raw material -- with the maker responsible for cutting out and assembling the piece and delivering it to you for finishing. With payment as above.

lastly, can you provide some photos of your products so we can get an idea of the type of machinery that would be reqiuired to amke them.
    regards from Alberta, Canada

    Hi Ian,

    Thanks for the reply.

We are open to suggestions however how we do it at the moment is to purchase the sheets of veered MDF from Australian Timbers. We take them to our joiner who cuts the wood, and puts together the furniture.

We supplied him a drawing with measurements and we worked together to produce our furniture. We have samples of our pieces so you can see it in the flesh as well as in a photo and drawing.

Here are a few images for you to see.
