Heard about this site?
Not computer savvy but anyhows: Went to respond to fellow forum member on another site that i`ve been a well known member of for some years & within the reply window got a message telling me my ip address was blacklisted & as such reply was blocked from being sent. Ventured as far as checking that particular entity - ahbl.org/lktool? - but not particularly game to go further into as don`t know if it (that entity) could cause problem with my computer. It did list an/my ip address but figured safer/better not to type it in the "look up" it suggested. Any one come up against this sort of thing before?

That's the/an abusive hosts block list.
Basically, someone using your ISP is doing something such as sending spam, and your ISP hasn't done anything to stop them despite being told that "There's someone on one of the subdomains that you administer sending spam. Please stop them or we'll blacklist you."
I would say that your ISP hasn't responded, so AHBL has put part/some/all of your ISP's domains on the blacklist. Forward a screenshot of your problem to your ISP, as you can't really do anything to fix it (except use a proxy to connect to the site you want to visit).
