G'day fellas. Need some help finding ways to clear my dad tools

Bit of an introduction and a question at the same time.

I live in Sydney with my Husband and 2 boys, we purchased an old fibro in need of a bit of love and have spent 3 long years chipping away at making it lovely again.
Our most recent accomplishment was to finish a timber deck and verandah, took 11 months but got there in the end!

We love being handy, it does give you a sense of achievement to have completed a job and saved some bucks.

So my question is I have my Dad Zinken Compact 21 to sell, I don't actually know it's value. it is in good working order but has some rust at the base of the unit. Could someone give me an idea of how to sell it and how much for.

I listed it on ebay yesterday but I think I have under priced it.

I would imagine that your job of selling Dad's machine is not an easy one. (Sentimental attachment)
I had a look at the pictures on Ebay, I know nothing of the machine but by the photos and reading that it is manufactured in Italy- I would say it is worth every bit of the $1600. But. There is always a but, you may not find a buyer very quickly. Someone who knows/used the machine is probably where your market is the strongest. I think I would keep it at $1600 and see what happens. It would be a shame to "let go" too cheaply.

I don't think $1600 is underpriced. The new base level Zinken is around $2000 in Aus but it is smaller than the 21. I think.
It looks like a capable machine. I hope it sells for you.

I'll be honest and think you may not get a lot of interest at $1600. I hope I'm wrong.

$700-800 would be a reasonable start and see where it goes.

I can not comment on the machine but will welcome you to the forum. If you have other machines for sale then feel free to start a new thread on the machine and ask the forum members on value. It might help get you a starting idea on what it is worth, then be able to determine what you would like to do.
