    G-day mate first time on, I like turning pens , only a learner but getting better every day .
    We have some nice woods in Tasmania, what is the best finish to bring out the grain??

    G'day Shepherdman and welcome to the cubby!

    Lots of opinions about the best finish for pens, but a good job with CA and BLO is my pick.

    Welcome to the forum. As suggested have a look in the pen turning interest group for lots of info. Personally I use shellawax finish and enjoy the patina that develops with use although I respect those that like the shiny and durable CA finish.
