Ceiling fan - earth wire
Hi all, when we moved in there were ceiling fans in all 3 bedrooms, as the kids have bunks I removed their fans to avoid decapitation and general screwing around with them and replaced with oyster fixtures (I know, my bad). Just recently the fan in the master started to make a few noises, and as I do nightshift, when I get home I like to have the fan on low when it's a little warm, but the noise was like having a fly or a mozzie buzzing around the room when your trying to sleep. I replaced it with one I removed a few months ago (I know, my bad again), anyway whilst replacing it I noticed that there's no earth wire going into the terminal block, there's one from the block going onto the fan though. So finally my question is: should the fan be earthed?
Thanks
Nathan
