Vulcan Quasar Flu queirie
Hi guys, nice and VERY informative forum you have here. I have a querie regarding the old trusty Vulcan Quasar wall furnace. I have an older one with the manual controls and it has been great but the fan has gone in it for the 2nd time (1st time claimed on insurance a bit over a year ago, i think the repairer put a dodgy 2nd hand unit in!) .. So now im looking for a more updated 2nd hand quasar furnace and love the look of those electronically controlled ones. Will my old flu bolt up to the newer unit and if so will everything else be fairly straight forward in the swap over? Upon measuring the units are the exact same size so im presuming they are fairly compatible with each other.

Quasar Flue
The flue components are not normally made by the appliance manyfacturers but by a company specialising in fluing. This means that the lengths of flue pipe are the same and if there is any difference in the outlet on the heater it would only mean a new flue adapter is required. Is your old unit an inbuilt or console model as there is a difference in the flue pipe on these units. The inbuilt models use a low profile rectangular flue whilst the console models use the conventional round flue.
