Floorboards with lots of nails
In parts of my old Victorian house they have put down board over the floorboards, then added laminate on top ... then added carpet (gotta love the layers of ages!).
When the builders ripped up the kitchen it looked something like this ....
Not very clear (other than the nice hole in the floor) ... but there were nails all through the floorboards. That part of the house was being destroyed so not a problem it was all taken out ... but the hallway and other rooms (which are staying) look like having the same issues. Is the floor saveable with lots nails in it?
I'm of course hoping no more big holes like the one in the photo!
