It does not matter where you start, but that you get to your destination.
I see the engine is a ?-6-?, my guess is a 4-6-0.
Look forward to more of the build.

Hi Handyjack , I am not sure what model the engine is I looked up google and the closest one I could find was a 4-4-0 which has 4 drive wheels where mine has 6 drive wheels .
A very distinctive thing is the tapered boiler on the one I am making which I can't find on others . It may be that the one I am building has a bit of a mixture .
Thanks Rod

Here's a picture of a 4-6-0 class loco.
Finnish460.jpg
The Class Hv1 was built from 1915 by Tampella and Lokomo. They were nicknamed Heikki and were numbered 545 to 578 and 648 to 655. The class remained in service until 1967. One, no. 555 named Princess, is preserved at the Finnish Railway Museum.Knappen - aka Ole, try at least one time.

Nice looking turn of the century 4-6-0 tender engine.
4-6-0 in 'Whyte notation' Whyte notation - Wikipedia indicates 4 pilot wheels, 6 driving wheels and 0 trailing wheels (under the firebox & cab). The lack of a letter indicates that the engine's fuel and/or water is in a tender.

Looking great!
Really going to be a nice one when done, have you given any thought about what cars you might build for it.An Index Of My Model making Blogs on Lumber Jocks.

It has come up a treat. You have the essentials on the backhead (in the cab), the (water) gauge glass and pressure gauge.
