Finishing advice for hodge podge fort
Hi everyone,
I am in the process of building a fort for my young son and would like to draw apon all of your collective knowledge and experience.
- This fort is a real "hodge podge" of different timbers. I bought some rough sawn cypress pine posts for the verticals which I planed down and look a treat.
- I found some old red gum rails I'll use for joists.
- Some Oregon (not sure) posts for bearers.
- and some other 45 X 190 hard wood boards I'll cut up to use for floor boards.
Everything apart from the cypres is very old weathered timber from a pulled down fence. I have planed them down and they look amazing.
I want a clear finish that shows off their collective beauty but must be able to to be used on these varied timbers.
Any advice?
