G'Day Folks Navynuke from Perth
I have been a wood turner for 18 months, I am the secretary of the Mandurah Woodturners Club.
ex USN and a very diverse working life, oil refinery, electronic test equipment calibration and repair, instrument repair and calibration of laboratory equipment in hospitals, universities and path labs, torpedo maintenance and engineering services.
All that is behind me now that I am retired and love wood.

Welcome aboard, sailor!
It's a small world.
There's lots of good woodturning info here plus all sorts of other stuff.
You might get some with that G.M.F. grinder restoration.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Navy".
There are a good number of members in Perth and surrounding areas.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork....
Cheers crowie [ex-RAN - Engineering branch]
You've certainly retired to a beautiful part of the world & Australia but why so far from US??
