Button shelac
Hi this is my first post in this forum.
My wife has just purchased an old oak dining table & chairs they need restoring.
We were advised to use button shelac where is the best place to get it & what is the best way to apply it.
Thanks

G'day and welcome,
Not sure how familiar you are with finishing [I'm certainly no expert] but I totally agree with DanP, but go one step further and also get hold of "A Polisher's Handbook" by Neil Ellis - from the same place - it may cost a few $$ but if you want to save yourself some grief and do it right the first time then get the book.
Regards,
Bob

I don't know that actual button shelac would be a real good thing for a beginner, shelac in one of the more refined and more redily desolved forms would probably be better.
I'm sure neil would know where to gett button shelac If he didn't have any lying arround.
There would also be a realy good reason if he didn't stock it too.
cheersAny thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
