Hi. Our house (nearly finished) is mostly clad with Orangeboard (polystyrene) and then rendered. I have lots of small projects to do outside over the next few years and most of them will end with me blending the finish in with the render of the house. So far I’ve mostly been rendering with Davco cement based render and it provides a reasonable match but rendering as we all know is slow and finicky for a DIY person - especially when it is only a small but complex job. So I’m wondering if it’s possible to use one of the paint-on Texture Paints to get the same effect in a lot less time. I’m thinking maybe Dulux full texture or Dulux medium texture ? I’d be looking for something I could apply by roller or mitt.

And of course if the texture paint is tintable then that would save me further time as I usually have to apply at least three coats of paint to the render to get our look.

I’ve never used one of these though and am hoping someone can demystify them for me. If I have a flat, we’ll prepared surface would they be the fastest way to get me a concrete render look?

I’m talking small areas only.

I’ve attached a photo of our house’s render. I know you can’t reckon much from a photo so perhaps I could best describe it as a medium texture render finish.

Cheers
Arron
