    Default Epay slow response times

Just missed out on what would be the winning bid on Epay for a set of Superjaws - local around the corner to me - one of only 2 suitable in a year of waiting so sod it I'll buy one new.

I've always been a bit of a sniper - with a fair amount of success - just recently I've had difficulty refreshing the browser screen within about 2minutes of an auction end.

This time I could not get into Ebay for a good 5 minutes and even then I had to reboot.

Does Ebay try to delay things within the closing minutes to prevent sniping. It seemed too much of a coincidence and this is not the first time. I can't see how a few people bidding on a single item could present any real application performance.

I usually bid at the 4 seconds to go mark.
    Never a problem.

Despite waiting 1 year for a suitable and local set of Superjaws to come up, a far newer example came up 15mins down the road this week and I won with little competition and paid less than last week's winning bid.....
