Puzzle
For all of you that like a good puzzle to solve
Situational Awareness
Scenario:
You are driving in a car at a constant speed.
On your left side is a valley and on your right side is a fire engine
travelling at the same speed as you.
In front of you is a galloping pig which is the same size as your car
and you cannot overtake it.
Behind you is a helicopter flying at ground level.
Both the giant pig and the helicopter are also travelling at the same
speed as you.
What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?
SCROLL DOWN for the ANSWER!!!
Answer: Get off the children's "Merry-Go-Round", you're
p issed.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

The pig and helicopter might have the same speed but not the fire engine.
Why
Different radius from the centre of the rotation.
Same circular velocity but not linear velocity.

Or, if you want to get technical, if you are rotating clockwise, then your left side is travelling faster than your right, so there is no constant speed, just an average speed for the whole of your body, and therefore can this not apply to the fire engine? Where do you draw the line?"I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

Silent, thanks for supporting my argument.
Anyway I think the P I$$ed factor has solved the problem already.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

Isn't time also related to the speed we are traveling at? This guy Albert something or other mentioned it?
It's also well know that time passes faster when your -issd cos you always get home too late.

Let’s not forget that the pig and helicopter also move up and down. Do they move up and down together or does one go up when the other comes down? So now we also have to take the vertical velocity into consideration. The whole speed thing is ever more complicated now.
And how is it possible that a pig can run as fast as a car?
I am puzzled.
Truth is have we been told these facts up front then anyone of us would know that it is a “merry-go-round” situation right away.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

Hmmm now it becomes harder still, is the up and down movement of each at the same frequency, what is the phase difference if so? I can se angular velocity in one plane to be constant with a varying angular velocity to the up and down movement to be considered???????????
Maybe if we all have some more nice red, it will all fall into place?

Well, you see things don't really 'fall' do they? They are actually attracted to each other and it's the differential of their respective masses which determines which one moves relative to its current position, although if you are talking about an object on Earth, it is already moving, through time and space, and so it's really a trajectory change from one consistent with the rotation of the planet, to one which is temporarily at an angle to it. So things never really stop moving.
See, it's easy and I've had half a bottle of coke without the scotch in it."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

I think we're into a circular argument here.

But we are gaining momentum.
Interesting fact - Most (if not all) of the merry go round I have been onto goes anti-clockwise. Any comments?
On the subject of moving things and the earth. If all cars, trains, trams and ships in the world move the same direction in full speed and the rest of can run. According to Newton’s law of momentum. Would it make the earth spin in the other direction? Any comments?Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com
