G'day From A Sandgroper
For our non-Aussie readers, "Sandgroper" refers to a West Australian.
G'day all
I'm an import; Scottish by birth, Aussie by choice since naturalization in 1974. I served 20 years in the RAAF and discharged 1998. Now retired, I suffer Epilepsy and receive Disability Pension. Originally, I occupied myself constructing scale replica models but several were destroyed during fits. Hence my interest in timber; it's more robust! My wife will permit me to work ONLY outside the kitchen where she can keep me under observation - Colditz .

Hi guys and thanks.
Crowie, would that be RN or RAN? Before coming to Gods backyard, I was an RN "sparker" myself. Served mostly on Ton-class sweepers but my best draft was 2 years on HMS INTREPID (L11 - Landing Platform Dock). Small ships are best? Not in my experience!
