Phoenix Plane
Buying a broken plane for parts, common practice.
here is one idea..plane bed broke right at the throat, parts are used on other planes.
Throw away the bed..?
Just could not do it, friend of mine, adot45, saw one on line someone had rescued.
Make the broken bed into a chisel plane or a form of a scrapper plane...
Here is a pic of the various stages of the "Phoenix" plane

G'day to you mate,
Have already a good thick blade in it now, an Ohio plane tapered blade and cap iron.
Gives me a good excuse now to get a Hock blade and cap iron for my Ohio #04..
