Default WOODWORKING QUIZ for 21 Oct 04

    Good Evening Friends,
You have been contracted by a client to build a base cabinet 30" wide and the lady want two drawers with fronts that are 6" high and over lap the face front by 3/8" all round. The drawer guide will be a center guide with rollers on the face front. What size will you make the drawer body to have enough clearance on the sides and in height?

    Respectfully,

Default WOODWORKING QUIZ ANSWER for 21 Oct 04

    Good Evening Bob,
You are half right, you have the height of 5.1181" but no width which would be 25.4 millimeters clearance on each side. With the new roller style that can be fastened to the drawer rail with one small screw they are a snap to install.
The center rail is mounted to the upper rail and to the back of the cabinet.

    Thank you for your support.

    Respectfully,
    Ralph Jones Woodworking
