    Default Another Mantle Clock

Here's the second mantle clock mentioned in the previous post, It has an Enfield movement so earlier than 1949 when Enfield became Smith Enfield. Judging by the Art Deco style and given that materials were scarce during WW2 and after, I would guess it's pre-1940. The movement had a broken main spring (now repaired) and also a broken glass and missing key (also replaced). The rear door was also missing. It has a single Westminster chime. Once again, the carcass was stripped and refinished with shellac. I made a new door for the rear in ply with mahogany stain. Cheers, PeteIMG_1984.jpgIMG_1987.jpgIMG_1989.jpgIMG_2099.jpgIMG_2098.jpgIMG_1998.jpg
