Convential Holland blind problem
I all, I have a conventional Holland Blind which is 15 years old, and otherwise it is in excellent condition which is why I would rather fix the problem than buy a new blind. The problem is that the ratchet at the flat pin end of the roller does not engage with the pawl when rolling the blind up or down. The brackets at either end are in excellent condition so that is not the problem. When the blind is pulled up or down (and it moves very badly in either direction and is loose) the flat pin end rolls around at the same time instead of being stable and firm. I have removed the blind from the brackets and I have taken a pair of pliars and have turned the flat pin clockwise until I have felt tension, and then slowly allowed it to move back a little expecting to hear the ratchet engage with the pawl. This has not happened despite trying it many times. Is anyone able to please help me with a solution to this problem? My blind has the metal flatpin end rather than the modern plastic insert flatpin ends and it looks like it is not able to be removed for cleaning or any other work. Many thanks for your help if possible. Cheers, Papernebula.
