Bar top finish

Hi all
just after some suggestions for a finish for an out door bar top 3900 x 300.
It will be outdoors but will not see direct sunlight, the top is constructed from redgum. I have some shellac, teak oil and polyurethane finishes already but am open to suggestions for something more suited to the elements

Hey Stewy,

Everone will probably have their own solution to this. If it is undercover (sounds like it is), I'd be inclined to use a polyurethane, and build up heaps of coats with a light sand in between each.

If you use a flooring single pack poly (like Cabot's CFP), it will be harder and more scratch resistant. If it was me I'd use water based (because it dries faster), and get as many coats down in a weekend that I could.

Still undecided which way to go yet. Thinking of trying some of the Festool heavey oil from their surfix system but will have to do some test peices first as I havent used it before.
Must be a while since you have graced these parts mate, the Oasis has been demolished for about 7-8 years now (aldi supermarket). The Fed still goes strong though
