I'm putting in a sliding door system and need to build a section of wall that has a maximum thickness of 35mm (including gyprck).

Does anyone have any good ideas how to do this? I'm thinking either

1. Build a frame out of steel tube (20x20) and screw gyprock onto tube (Metal Mate 20 x 20 x 1.6mm 3m Galvanised Steel Square Tube)
2. Build a frame out of 19mm pine and attach gyprock to this

I'm thinking option 1 might be best because it would be more dimensionally stable over time.

Any thoughts?
