Sherwood cast iron router table
Hello everybody! - my first post on this site.
I'm considering purchasing the large free-standing "Full Size Sherwood Cast-Iron Router Table" (not intending to make my own at this stage) included is their adjustable stainless steel stand, and the other components that come with the package. I intend to use the winder that comes with my Triton router to adjust height with the optionally supplied Sherwood mounting plate that comes pre-drilled - so no lift required.
Unfortunately I have not come across any reviews of this table anywhere here or elsewhere, other than for its use on the Timbecon youtube channel - who are its seems, the only company that sell it. Perchance has anyone used one of these tables or can recommend a similar table within similar specifications?

Yeah I've got one, they're good value for the price. Built a small cabinet for it to stand on (I have the bench top stand) and added the superflat fence and microadjust. Very happy with the purchase.

https://www.timbecon.com.au/sherwood...er-table-fence
taken from that weblink:
Offset Routing
One final benefit of the Super-Flat Fence straight out of the box is the offset fence spacers. The H-pattern spacers are offset slightly looked end-on, so that they can either provide a 1mm gap on one side, or a 2mm gap when flipped around. Two spacers are provided to give full support all the way behind the sub-fence. This offset on the outfeed fence allows you to use your router table and fence as a planer. When not in use, the spacers neatly store in the t-groove at the back of the fence so you'll never misplace them.

Hrmm I'll have to take a look next time I'm in the shop, I don't recall seeing those!

I have the smaller Sherwood cast iron top. Have added as a wing on my Carbatec table saw. I have the super flat fence as well, although, my super flat fence was catching stock on the out feed side.
I suspect one of the interchangable fence pieces was not quite right. After swapping and flipping them around a few times I got a combination that works. Not something that would turn me off from purchasing it again.
I'm yet to use the fence and spacers as a jointer.

I assume they're a coated MDF but couldn't say for sure without cutting one in half.

I just purchased this one with all the trimmings including the lift and round body on line only to find they are our of stock and seems unlikely I will be able to collect for at least two weeks though based on others experiences is likely to be longer. If you do decide to proceed may be best to place an order and pay on receipt as is a fair spend on something you may not see for a while,
Was very much looking forward to trying it out over the weekend but will just have to be patient, as least will be able to complete some other projects that would have been otherwise delayed I suppose.
Cheers,
Rudy

Hi Rudy....Yes that particular combination shows as being out of stock on the Timbecon website. Was that the case when you ordered?

Just checked ThomK, the industrial unit I bought is still shown as available so seems they still have not corrected.
Cheers,
