Default Wood and Shed dont mix!

    Hi

Stayed home with the flu today and lasted in bed till about 1130. Waited for SWMOM had left so I didnt get a smack in the head and went down to the shed.

Started drilling some screws into my new TS sled and slipped and drilled into the index finger. Deep, blood trail to kitchen, but no stitches required.

    Had a coffee.

Went down again. Started wrapping a 4" dusty hose with duct tape when it tore and I punched myself in the mouth cutting my lip deep on a tooth.

    Had a coffee.

Went down again. Started screwing up the hose clamp on the dusty hose. blade slipped and straight into the same cut on the index finger

    Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Give up and crawl back into bed. SWMOM comes home......."why are thier so many bandaid wrappers in the kitchen" and then "How the *(&(*&&^&* do you cut yourself 3 times in bed you *&*&&"

I give up. Flu and the shed no mix!

    Dazz,

What a horror story... Such a waste of a day off!

I hope you jump back on the horse again soon, but not too soon. I hope you didn't get sick from playing in the snow.

    Bad day, eh?

Never mind. Look at your post. Move your gaze to the left... and cheer up!

When I hobby gets too serious we all tend to get stupid in some way.

When I was about 20 and mad about playing football (round ball), I was clearing my first block of land and burnt my legs really badly (dont ask). No probs, just bandage them up and go to not one, but two training nights.

Well a day later they were scraping the skin off my legs to get all the dirt out and I was in hospital for 5 days on an IV drip and regular shots of pethidine. At least there was one upside.

Yup... I know better than to try working in the shed if I'm off colour.

If you dont drop something on your foot, you will cut your hand, or end up cutting wood in the wrong place, or making two left sides to a cabinet... or something equally dumb.

If your brain isn't working at least 95% then stay out of the shed

Sickies are for working in the shed, when your 'are' sick, you go to work and make everyone elses life a misery.
I got caught once when the mobile phone rang, query on a file I had been working on from one of the Directors, I was fishing and you could clearly hear my mate who was landing a trout, plus the rush of the water over the rapids.
    Damn that Edison fellow:mad:

Feeling for ya, Dazzler! Accidents like that always happen in batches, if you cut your hand once, sure enough another finger will cop it. Something about off-days & biorythms, clumsiness or just bad luck.

    Cheers,
