    Default Red eyed frog

The pattern for this is from a leadlight patter book. The wood is from the scrap bin - various timbers. My first real go at intarsia.

That looks really nice Alex and it was a clever idea to use lead light patterns too.

    Looks like art,
How does this difer from marquetry?

    Thanks all.
Steve, I cut it on the scroll saw. Traced the pattern onto some cardboard, marked which timbers went where on the pattern, then cut it up and stuck the bits to the appropriate timber and cut them out. Some took a little bit of filing to make them a good fit.
Jow, as I understand it, marquetry is done using veneers that are stuck to a background. Intarsia uses thicker pieces that may be different thickness and also may be profiled and textured.

will be in the 'Please be Seated' exhibition in Wagga Wagga in October, but I think it will be a while before I exhibit any intarsia.
