    Default Joist hangers and posts

    Hi there people,
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to attach joist hangers where posts intercept. I have attached a pic beacuse its really hard to describe.

I am hanging all josits with hangers as I have very limited clearance below. The problem is.... where my bearers sit on the posts, joist hangers will need to be attached (unfortunately my spacing between joists means they intercept quite a few times) - I know I cant attach them to one side of the post, as it will be weak.

Any Ideas - hope the picture will help.

easiest way is to move your joist across so it butts up against the edge of the post, then use a triple grip instead of the joist hanger. It will muck up your joist spacing slightly, it that a major problem ?

Could you attach a blocking piece to the side of the bearer (say 400-600 long), then fix your hanger to the blocking piece?

Yeah, I think I was too dumb to think of that. I didnt know if it would look really out of place or not...just being picky I suppose. Thanks for your help.
