Hi.

We're getting quotes to replace our old concrete tile roof (with Terra Cotta) and the roofers are scratching their heads over the Fall Prevention.

Normally, they lift a tile above every third rafter, insert a post onto the Rafters and then attach the rails and they're good to go. They cannot do this with our roof because it has open eaves (from below). There is a board lying above the rafters and the tiles are laid above that, they cannot access the rafters because of the board.

Additionally, this roof has no facia board - the gutter is attached to the ends of the rafters.

The roof is quite high. As much as I'd like to tidy it up by enclosing the eaves and installing a facia board, the cost of doing that and the scaffolding would be horrendous.

Has anyone come across a fall prevention guard rail system that is attached to the underside of the rafters and goes outside the gutter?

woodbe.
