Infill restoration advice needed.
Hi All, I managed to score 2 bargain Mathieson infill smoothers, I haven't seen them yet, but they are in pretty average condition from the pics I saw.
I was planning on only doing the minimum to these plans. I was thinking of going over the metal work with a fine rubber cleaning stone : Lie-Nielsen Toolworks USA | Handblock as these can get into any pitting and clean them up well.
I am not sure what to do to the wooden parts, what was the original finish?
I was leaning towards a clean with 0000 steel wool and a coat of shellac or linseed oil/wax what do you guys suggest?
