Why??? Bad news

Here I was concerned over one of my own family members who is suffering depression talking on the phone about it to someone, when an e-mail comes in about a mates 32 year old son who'd just been found he'd taken his own life.

This boy had been a big part of my families own lives grown up with them their ages are only in some cases months a part. His dad and I had worked together for years sadly we had rifted apart as mates.

It's a harsh, unforgiving world now, and it's not set up to be fair, or to give a damn about those who get trampled on. It's about dollars, and screwing more than you get screwed. It's just like a bluddy giant mincer out there now, and it's just too much for a lot of people, especially in that age bracket.

God's a very understanding fellow, from what I've heard. I'm sure he'll look kindly upon your old Mate's son. He'd want you to remember him as he was in the good times...

As one who has to deal with the Black Dog, what really gets me is that there is really good counselling and medical treatment for this out there and once you face up to it, the problem diminishes because you can understand it.

I'm really sorry to hear about Aaron and trust that he has found the peace that he was seeking.

Sad news Wheelin'. Sometimes its NOT talking on the phone about it that is more of a worry, as it can get to seem there is no solution. Give everyone around you a hug. And yourself.

That is indeed sad news about Aaron.
I suffer from the curse of "the black dog". I'm on antidepressants for life.
I know that is no help to some but if any fellow members suff er the same curse then make sure you get all the help you can.

There must be many conflicting thoughts
on why he chose to go that way.

My wife and I visited a close friend yesterday
whose son, aged 48, dropped dead from a
massive heart attack whilst fuelling his car
at a service station. His wife and 5 kids
were there at the time and of course were
absolutely devastated.

Arron unfortunately is no longer with us and after friends and family have mourned his passing, it would be a good idea to make sure those near and dear to us are OK.

There are some good pamphlets, phone counsellers and websites which I have used to help mates who I have suspected are doing it hard. These sources of information give you ideas on how to approach the subject and how you might convince them to get some assistance.

I recommend people check out these sources just to be able to recognise someone who is doing it tough so we don't find out too late.
