40th Birthday next weekend - Cutting Board
Hi, in addition to my dad's birthday this week, I also have a 40th to go to.
He loves cooking so I was thinking of a cutting board.
I have made a few a few years ago out of jarrah and rock maple.
I live in Perth and am wondering what other timbers I could make it from?
I have lots of good Jarrah but I would like a nice timber to offset it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Arry

If you are ever near Armadale then you can have some Sheoak ... there's a lot here
Cheers,
Paul

Cheers Paul, Sheoak is a fantastic timber however do you think it would look good against Jarrah?

Cheers guys, bassmansimon, Marri is a wonderful timber however I would need to fill holes with resin etc so probably not a good idea, but I love Marri!

Good point. Great together but probably not the best choice for a cutting board
